What's up with Ushio's dad? What's up with Ushio's mom? To find out, we will locate his father once and for all and shake the truth out of him!

He's a deadbeat, as usual.

Beatin' on his handsome son, as usual.

Exactly!

His old fogey dad ain't all bad, though. In fact, this is the "Ushio's old fogey dad ain't all bad" episode. We're gonna see him actually destroy evil spirits for about five seconds and talk to an organization that's more bad than him. Because no shounen battle anime worth its salt can go for long without some kind of massive organization!

DON'T YOU SAY JOJO DIDN'T. Just look at Speedwagon Foundation.

Arise, silhouettes clothed in light! Hear Ushio's dad's plea! He is here to report to the powers that be behind the scenes that his son has unleashed the dangerous Beast Spear that used to keep dangerous Tora at bay in the basement.

They listen with patience, at least until one of them gives a long, belabored "URRREGH!" and tosses his teacup at UshiDad.

"URRREGH!" *ploinck*

It is ultimately decided that Daddy-o will test his son himself, for various bureaucratic reasons. Nonetheless, for eviler bureaucratic reasons, these four boys in hats are walking slowly and menacingly towards the Ushio and Tora residence.

*Jaws music*

The dad returns home and gets stupid again.

Woah! Something more annoying than Tora! Can such a thing exist!?

But then he gets serious! And then he fights Tora!

Presumably because he heard him bad-mouthing him just then.

But then Ushio gets really long hair and intrudes.

'Cause he knows that Poppio is just trying to exterminate Tora on the grounds that he's an evil demon Blanka thing...

; )

But then the four bad boys from earlier with the Jaws music come in...and they won't listen to the Ushio family about their beloved pet, so then everybody fights, and it's awesome, see, you can tell how awesome it is by all the fighting pictures I took of it. Also, they have heartwarming family moments like this:

It's the ol' "don't hurt my dad because uh, uhh....." trick!

And everyone comes out lookin' cooooooooooooool!

After all's said and done, Ushio's still confused about a lot of things. But now, as he stands on the precipice of an adventure with his animal-yokai-thing friend Tora, he's learned a little about his father (he hunts evil Japanese spirits and keeps them in Japan and stuff), a little about his mother (she's not dead; go on an ambiguous journey to find out more!), and maybe even a little about...himself.

So that he can never be subjected to his father's awful "new information" and "advice" again.

*neck breaks* *large snapping sound*
